Surf Jam and Arty Clean up! Clean up starts at 2pm, River Jam at 3pm with a surf comp starting at 4pm!
Earth Day Trash Cleanup
Join us for a trash clean up to celebrate Earth Day!
We will meet in the parking lot in front of Highland Park, in the Walnut Hills neighborhood, at 2 pm. There is street parking in the neighborhood as well - Pritz Ave or Highland Ave are good options as well. We will work our way down Wyoming Street.
Please bring a blanket and snacks for an after clean up picnic at the park! Do not forget your reusable water bottle. We will have a cooler for water to refill as needed.
At our first clean up we retrieved 500 lbs from the river and its banks near the Art Institute. Let’s double that!
November Cleanup & Riversgiving Dinner
Our next trash cleanup is scheduled for 3pm on Saturday, November 13th at the Riverscape wave. Free parking is available along the city streets (meters are free on weekends). Meet by the wave (come down the stairs). We will provide gloves and trash bags and will pick up trash until about 4:30. Please sign the below volunteer waiver if you haven't already for one of our events!
Following the cleanup, we will host a “Riversgiving” dinner for Ohio RSA members at Mudlick Tap House at 5pm with a raffle, door prizes, and Mudlick appetizers on us. Meals range from $11+. Consider becoming a member to support us, come have dinner, and enjoy more perks and gatherings!
Ohio RSA Members HAPPY HOUR
Join us for a Ohio RSA members happy hour! Hosted at Surf Dayton surf shop following a river clean up! Beers will be provided free of charge thanks to Nocterra Brewery and Surf Dayton
River Cleanup
As a launch of our association we will be hosting a trash clean up event. Come and learn more about our cause and meet the board members behind the movement. We will have information about how to become a member of our association as well.
We will start at what we call the Art Wave and split up into groups to go north and south on the river area. We will provide gloves, trash bags and safety vests! Please dress appropriately and bring a reusable water bottle. The location is set as the Masonic Center because we park right in front of it. Parking is free along W Riverview Ave but it does get congested easily, so look for other areas to park as well. You can take the stairs to the right, or the walk way to the left to get down to meet at the Art Wave.
We will be posting a waiver for everyone attending to sign later this week, please do so before coming out to help.
We can’t wait to further get to know this community and help clean up our riverways!
